LOYALSOCK CANYON VIEW IN PA

You can reach this overlook from car or "earn" this view by hiking a few miles and 600+ feet to get on top via the Loyalsock Trail. There's even another trail which comes in from the south specifically for the view "Loyalsock Canyon Vista Trail" Either way it's gonna take a bit of sweat to hike up. As usual the map link above will give you the details on how to get there. Not far from "Worlds End" state park which is another good place to stop.

And those 3 miles seem to be straight up. The hike is a good one and the rock road is not perfect so don't try goin up in a vette or you'll tear the muffler clean off.
Once you get to the actual spot where the "LT" trail meets the asphalt the view and trail are well marked and paved....

Step up to the rail and get an idea of how far you've climbed as you look back down at the Loyalsock River.

And a little closer

This area is a pretty good stretch of river to run around in and play. I tried to dam up the river one time and got the rapids runnin pretty good till a park ranger came around and didn't like the idea... But man it was fun to pile all those rocks up and try to force the river through one small hole. Needless to say you get one massive force shoving that water between two rocks about waist wide and trying to sit there and hold the water back as it eventually rushes over you as you become just another rapid is no small feat. (FYI watch your pants)
A good place to eat lunch or dinner...
here's some links to all the pics but most are close ups of what you've just seen
